Blood donation camp was organized by NSS-ITM Universe on 17th March 2009 in association with Blood Bank J.A.H. group of hospitals, Gwalior, M.P. Dr. K.S. Mangal, Head Blood Bank was leading the team. Students of ITM Universe donated 41 units of blood of different groups. By looking to the response of the students Dr. K.S. Mangal and his team was very happy and it is decided that such camps will be organized quarterly in ITM Universe. This will create a healthy practice among the students and the needy patients will be benefited. This Lions Club, Gwalior also organised a blood donation camp on 12 August 2010 with the cooperation and support of ITM students. Similarly an “Eye Check-up Camp” was organised on 26th August 2010.

 
 
 
Socio-economic and health survey in neighboring villages Turari and Kote -ki-Sarai was conducted by the students of BBA V semester (7-8th January, 2010) under the guidance of Faculty Members. The survey included:

1. Economic Status
2. Education
3. Health
4. Environmental parameters, drainage, sanitation, etc.
5. Access to natural resources
6. Empowerment of Women.

In such survey camps, the students acquire aptitude for human service, get acquainted with the problems of villagers and Society. A number of central/ State Govt. sponsored schemes and plans were explained by the faculty members particularly for villagers below poverty line and for girls.

Faculty members of Chemistry Department visited schools in rural area and city area in January 2010 and explained them about the use of Chemistry in their day-to-day Life. Diseases due to unpotable water, improvised techniques for filtration of water, how to check adulteration in milk and other food material by using simple techniques was explained to school students.

Medical checkup visit to Sikroda Village, Distt., Gwalior: A medical camp was organized in February 2010 for the Children of Sikroda Village under the guidance of Dr. P.K Sharma, Principal, IASCA where medical officer of ITM Universe Dr. Raghvendra Sharma examined the children. On the basis of medical checkup the Health officer, Dr. Raghvendra Sharma gave proper advice and guidance to People of Village and Students of School. The basic Concepts for maintaining good health through personal hygiene was also addressed. Faculty and students also assisted the camp.

Distribution of Clothes: Clothes collected by the students and faculty members were distributed to needy persons of all the ages residing in slums and nearby villages to protect them from cold and heat strokes. Toys and Biscuits were also distributed to small children. The activities were organized in collaboration with Vivekanand Needam (NGO). A large number of clothes and toys were given to Vivekanand Needam for distribution to the children residing in the Needam.

The institute has taken collaborative initiatives with local NGOs towards community education and health awareness in villages Turari and Nagori: The institute provides free consultancy to local farmers for soil testing and analysis and suggests the nature of manure and fertilizers to be used for better farming and agriculture productivity.

Tree plantation programme was organized in Nagori village, and Kailash Colony an Earth Day (22nd April’2010) supported by Ministry of Earth Science, Govt. of India. Amla mission of Govt. of India was highlighted.
