About the course:

The MCA program is designed to prepare graduate students for productive careers in software industry and academia by providing an outstanding environment for teaching and research in the core and emerging areas of the discipline. The program’s thrust is on giving the students a thorough and sound background in theoretical and application-oriented courses relevant to the latest computer software development. The program emphasizes the application of software technology to solve mathematical, computing, communications/networking and commercial problems. The MCA program strikes a fine balance between all the skill required to work in the areas from system development to enterprise level. It gives the students the right edge in crucial areas of Software design and Engineering Information, Architecture and Project Management.

Student Role:

The students are given an exposure of basic and advance courses related with computer application viz. basics of information Technology, Mathematical foundation of Computer Science, Exposure to Programming using higher level language, Operating & Data BaseManagement System, Data Structures, Computer Oriented Numerical Analysis, Computer Oriented Optimization, Theory of Computation, Computer Network, Software Engineerings Methodology, Artificial Intelligence, Mobile Communication, Computer Graphics & Multimedia, Design and analysis of algorithm. And also to have first hand exposure in the area of computer application each student undergoes a practical training along with the project work during 6th semester in an organization / establishment / Software & IT Industry associated with computer applications.

Scope & Placement:

The post graduate program on Master of Computer Applications prepares the student to explore in numerable opportunities for employment in Application Software Development, IT enabled Service Sectors. Students of ITM & IITM have been placed in Amdale, Aryans Infoways, Hexaware, Torry Harris, Mphasis (EDS), Sapient, Suvi and Unilogic.
